Missing Florida teen found in NY; soccer coach arrested

Marcy Frisina, the aunt of Caitllyn Frisina, shared a photo on Facebook of the family embracing.

It wasnt immediately clear if Rodriguez has a lawyer.

In addition, Frasina's parents discovered sexual messages on Snapchat between her and Rodriguez after her disappearance.

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident, and Caitlyn was detained, the Sheriff's Office said.

Mr. Frisina said he had taken the sim card from Caitlyn's new cellphone she reset and placed it back in her old cellphone that she broke.

New York State Police Officer spotted the red Mercury with Florida plates plastered on her missing poster around 4 p.m. Friday in Syracuse. The FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office have been advised of this case and will consider federal charges in Florida.


Columbia County Sheriff's Office was searching for 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina, who went missing with a high school soccer coach last Saturday.

The two were believed to be headed north, authorities said earlier this week.

Law enforcement officials had been tracking Rodriguez through an ATM withdrawal in St. Mary's, Georgia, and by surveillance cameras at convenience stores in SC and North Carolina.

Rodriguez had been working as a boys' soccer coach at Fort White High School, but was suspended pending the investigation, according to a statement from Columbia County Schools superintendent Lex Carswell.

Authorities scheduled a press conference for Monday with more updates.

Frisina has played soccer at Fort White High School, according to an online roster published by Next College Student Athlete.
