United Kingdom will not confirm drone death of IS 'White Widow' recruiter

Considered Britain's most-wanted woman Jones- known as the White Widow- was a recruiter for Islamic State

Both Rankine-Galloway and Corbyn were responding to a report Thursday by The Sun that cited Central Intelligence Agency officials in reporting Jones' death - by a drone strike in June near the Syria-Iraq border.

According to the report, US intelligence officials said they could not be absolutely certain Jones was killed in the drone strike, because there was no effort to recover her DNA, but were "confident" that she is dead.

Jones reportedly used her son as a human shield at the time of her death. There have been several such claims of IS militants having been killed only for them to resurface months later. "Quite frankly, it's good riddance", a British source told The Sun on Wednesday. Maj Adrian Rankine-Galloway, a Pentagon spokesman, told the Guardian, "I do not have any information that would substantiate that report but that could change and we are looking into this".

Jones previously played in a punk band.

She attempted to brainwash young girls to travel to Syria to become jihadist brides and also took to social media to threaten attacks on Britain.

Hussain, a computer hacker from Birmingham who was another senior Isis member, was killed in a... A 2015 airstrike killed Hussain, and now experts say she died the same way, along with her 12-year-old son.

In 2016 she posted a message saying "Have a nice summer". She was nicknamed the "White Widow" after this. Hussain, who died in a U.S. drone strike in 2015, was accused of planning "barbaric attacks against the West".

Jones became Britain's most wanted woman after leaving her home in Kent, south east England, in 2013, to join IS, taking son Jojo with her.

Jones is among many suspected IS operatives on a United Nations sanctions list, which includes a travel ban and a freeze on her assets.

Former Ministry of Defence head of counter terror Major General Chip Chapman said Jones' alliance with Hussain and her recruitment role would have made her a "significant" target.
