Hillary nabbed NH by voter fraud?

Exclusive – Kobach: It Appears That Out-of-State Voters Changed the Outcome of the New Hampshire US Senate Race

The article sparked widespread controversy because it was published just one week before President Trump's Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, of which Kobach is vice chair, was to meet in New Hampshire.

Maine Secretary of State Matt Dunlap, another Democrat on the election panel, said Kobach's argument about potential voter fraud is a stretch. The panel heard from several witnesses who have conducted studies that they say show numerous cases of people voting a few times, or noncitizens casting ballots illegally.

But that would suggest Kobach and the commission actually are interested in finding ways to expand this fundamental building block of our democracy. Kelly Ayotte lost by razor-thin margins last fall, have borne the brunt of these allegations.

Gardner said people could live in New Hampshire, such as college students, and vote legally with an out-of-state license.

The Tuesday meeting will be devoted to studying declining public confidence in elections, one of the mandates given the panel by Trump, who has claimed without foundation that millions of fraudulent ballots enabled Hillary Clinton to win the popular vote in November.

Andrew Appel, a professor at Princeton University, said it would be easy to write a program that cheats on election results and deletes evidence of the hack as soon as the results are reported.

It's a state where the president claims thousands of people were bussed in from MA to vote illegally. Anyone who fails to provide the necessary evidence may be fined and prosecuted for voter fraud. Most of the 5,300 questioned votes came from college towns. One doesn't need a New Hampshire drivers' license while domiciled there to be on the right side of the state's election law.

White House Policy Adviser Stephen Miller and other Republicans have contended since Election Day that a considerable number of nonresident Democrats - primarily from MA - traveled to New Hampshire in order to vote illegally and tip the scale to give Clinton the win over Trump.

Members of the American Civil Liberties Union and the civil-rights group the NAACP said they will seek the dissolution of the voter fraud panel for the same reasons, that its alleged aim was voter suppression.

Also Tuesday, a Nashua judge struck down parts of new voting law backed by the Republican legislature and governor aimed at cracking down on out-of-state voters.

The reason why CNN may have zeroed in on "white men" in reporting on a voter fraud hearing is that many on the Left allege, as Perez does, that investigating voter fraud is done cynically with the goal of making it more hard for traditional Democratic voter demographics - such as African-Americans and young people - to vote.

But he took the opportunity to publicly criticize Kobach for spreading misinformation and casting doubt on the New Hampshire results. Pence and Kobach were joined on the commission by Hans von Spakovsky, J. Christian Adams and former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, all men who built their careers trying to suppress the vote, particularly for seniors, students and people of color. "I think it's a reckless statement to make". There may be instances on both sides (Republican and Democrats) where "overzealous" voters wish to vote twice, King stated, "But, I would venture to say, thousands upon thousands more people are stricken from voter rolls without justifiable cause or have their vote suppressed". And so we needed to hear from the voters in addition to election administrators and other experts. President Trump also tweeted about the "serious voter fraud" that had occurred in New Hampshire.

Dunlap dismissed the idea, calling it a "sterling example of the laws of unintended consequences" that would widen the mission of the background check database, which he said was never meant to be used as an election tool. Gardner said he did not necessarily favor imposing new qualifications for registering and voting, but he added that when burdens such as poll taxes and literacy tests were imposed on citizens and registering often required a trip to the local courthouse, voter turnout was far higher than it is now.
