Russian Federation says its oil supplies to North Korea are negligible

The comments came as the United Nations Security Council prepared for an emergency meeting in New York

Russian President Vladimir Putin could force additional US diplomats to leave Russia after he previously closed two American facilities and expelled almost half the diplomats.

"All of this can lead to a global planetary catastrophe and a great number of victims".

Speaking on the sidelines of an emerging markets summit in Xiamen, China, Putin claimed that "they'll eat grass, but they won't abandon their programme unless they feel secure", Interfax reported.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned against "driving North Korea into a corner" over its nuclear weapons program and missile tests.

Many key members of the Trump administration have deep ties to the Russian government, U.S. security services also say there is strong evidence about Russian intervention in the United States election.

"We are statesmen", Putin told reporters, according to a translation by Reuters. According to the Russian president, the U.S. had struggled to have the United Nations headquarters in NY and undertook commitments to ensure the work of this organization, TASS reported.

The United States said that the closures of Russian diplomatic property would achieve "parity" in the country's respective diplomatic missions, a word borrowed from the Russian side which cut the US diplomatic mission by 755 employees last month. "Probably such is the level of political culture of a certain part of the USA establishment".

Following Pyongyang's six missile test, Trump said the United States is considering "stopping all trade with any country doing business with North Korea".

The situation soon snowballed, with Russian Federation ousting hundreds of USA embassy staff by the start of September.

The White House says Trump and Merkel "condemned North Korea's continued reckless and unsafe behavior" and reaffirmed the importance of close coordination at the United Nations.

But Putin brushed off talk of any close relationship with President Trump when asked if he was "disappointed" at Trump's actions as President.

Putin called the seizure of the compounds "an obvious violation of property rights".

Russia's foreign ministry slammed the USA move as a "blatantly hostile act" and demanded a reversal of the order.

"But we will not do this yet", he said. There's nothing that can be done about this now, that's apparently the level of political culture of a certain part of the American establishment. "Let's see how efficient the much praised USA judiciary is".

The Russian president further called the shuttering of some Russian diplomatic facilities in the U.S. "an obvious violation of property rights" and said that, "for starters", he would instruct the Foreign Ministry to challenge the decision in court.
