Hillary Clinton to release new book 'What Happened' about 2016 election

Three Seas Initiative transatlantic roundtable in the Great Assembly Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw Thursday

"Now I'm letting my guard down", Clinton writes in an excerpt from the book's introduction.

Simon & Schuster bills the book as Clinton's "most personal memoir yet", adding that it gives her perspective on one of the most remarkable elections in American history.

Hillary Clinton and Simon & Schuseter announced the title for her memoir on the 2016 presidential election, and it's already available to pre-order two months before its release. It is slated to describe her experience running against Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential campaign, reflecting on "an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules".

Clinton's previous works include the 2003 memoir "Living History", published while she was a US senator from NY, and a book about her years as secretary of state, "Hard Choices", which came out in 2014 as she prepared to launch her presidential candidacy.

She said she would have won the election had it not been for the release of campaign chairman John Podesta's emails.

Honestly, this all sounds wonderful, but I wouldn't blame her if the whole thing was just 200 pages of "did he really just say that?"

"What Happened" is scheduled to come out September 12 and has evolved since first announced, in February. A Clinton ally told Axios that the book would be a "bombshell", but indicated it would be a "why I lost" type book that focuses in particular on Comey and Russian Federation.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, also the vice chairman of Trump's voter integrity commission, cast doubt on the FEC's conclusion when he said the public may never know who won the popular vote. "But then the Comey letter coming as it did - just 10 days before the election - really raised questions in a lot of people".

However, people of her own party believe that the book fails to cover the major aspects that allowed Trump to win.

I wonder if she'll explain how the Russians and Comey tricked her into ignoring Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
