Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Releases on June 27th

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Release Date and Price Announced

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is out now as a standalone release today, available first on PlayStation 4 as a physical copy and digital download via the PlayStation Network.

As it stands, the standalone version has been confirmed for Xbox One and PC, but we don't have a launch date for those versions yet. In fact, most people who got Modern Warfare Remastered with Infinite Warfare past year ended up ditching Infinite Warfare pretty quickly and instead invested most of their gaming time into the remaster. For one thing, the older version of the game was designed for last-generation consoles, like the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

What are your thoughts on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered finally getting a standalone release? Considering that WWII returns Call of Duty to "boots on the ground" multiplayer, it's perhaps unsurprising that they didn't want anything detracting from hype around the game.

Regardless of your platform, you'll need to shell out $40 for the standalone version of Modern Warfare Remastered. Now you can play this throwback without buying Infinite Warfare. At this rate, you might as well wait for that to drop in price, because at least you get two games for your money. With the game comes the engaging single player campaign as well as the original 16 multiplayer maps. But many fans didn't like the sci-fi setting of Infinite Warfare, and that may have held Modern Warfare Remastered back. Let us know below.
