Acting President hails Cross River Industrial Park

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has assured the people of Bakassi and government of Cross River that the Federal Government remains committed to addressing the plight of the displaced in Bakassi, in line with the Buhari presidency's policy on serving the interest of all Nigerians regardless of their affiliations.

Our correspondent who was on the entourage of the Acting President reports that from the Margret Ekpo International Airport through IBB Way to the Palace of the Obong of Calabar, residents came out in their numbers to welcome Prof.

Responding, Obong, thanked the acting president for finding time to visit his palace and described the visit as historic. We are greater together than apart.

Osinbajo is expected to commission the Calabar monorail, the Calabar International Convention Centre and the Cross River Garment Factory. When people speak of Nigeria, it is because of its diversity.

He said: "Unity is very important".


Speaking, Gov. Ayade said his vision was to make the state the destination for investment in Africa.

In response, the Acting President said Cross River is historic in Nigeria assuring that the Federal Government can never forget a strategic state like Cross River.

He said that the federal government would support any genuine project by any state government for the benefit of the people.

According to Osinbajo, the country has tried in managing its diversity so far, arguing that crisis of any type is not healthy for the country.

In his response, the Obong of Calabar, while appreciating the visit and asked that the traditional institution be given constitutional powers.
