White House Communications Director resigns

The White House is seen in Washington D.C

In a note to colleagues, Mr. Dubke said the reasons for his departure are "personal".

Bossie ended by saying that the White House shouldn't cancel it's daily press briefings, but should work to find other ways to combat the daily criticism and bias of the mainstream media.

Over the holiday weekend, the president tweeted that "The Fake News Media works hard at disparaging & demeaning my use of social media because they don't want America to hear the real story!"

His departure comes amid White House plans for a larger strategic shake-up to tackle head-on allegations involving communication between Russian Federation and Trump's presidential campaign, including a "war room" to combat mounting questions and multiple probes.

Dubke worked closely with Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

"He very much wanted to take control of the situation", the friend said, opting to offer his resignation so he could depart on his own terms.

White House communications director Michael Dubke has resigned.

Before Trump left for his first foreign trip on May 22, during which he visited five countries in nine days, senior White House officials had said major changes were on the way in Trump's press team.

However, Mr Kushner is now reportedly under scrutiny as part of the FBI's investigation into alleged Moscow influence that is engulfing Mr Trump's fledgling presidency.

One Republican strategist described Dubke's job to CNN Tuesday as "impossible", adding, "Mike is a good guy". He told Politico that he wanted to go back to Black Rock Group, his communications and public affairs firm.

At the same time, following Dubke's appointment, there were also reports of discontent among those loyal to Trump, both inside and outside the White House.

Senior adviser Kellyanne Conway told Fox News the White House will continue to bring in Cabinet secretaries and other top officials to handle news briefings on topics in their patch.

There will be more resignations and changes, the sources said, but nothing is believed to be imminent.

"[Dubke] has expressed his desire to leave the White House", she said, also commented on the idea that there will be more staffing changes in the near future. He was announced for the role of communications director in February, but still remained largely behind the scenes.

"President Trump has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him", the statement from White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks reads. Several people don't know where they stand, which adds to the uncertainty.
