Rajinikanth's entry into politics faces an unexpected backlash from the public!

Rajinikanth will only float his own party: TNCC chief

After Rajinikanth left people a bit confused about whether he will join politics or not, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to welcome the Tamil superstar with "open arms".

Thamizhar Munnetra Padai announced that it would stage a protest demonstration in front of Rajinikanth's residence at Poes Garden in Chennai allegedly against actor's indication for a political plunge. There were also reports that suggested that the actor who has steered clear of politics all these years, will emerge out as a BJP mascot and change the bipolar nature of Dravidian politics.

"I feel sorry for some Tamil people spreading hatred on social media", he had said.

. The outfit believes that Rajinikanth, being a Kannadiga, can not become a leader in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu is one of the southern states where the BJP's organisational strength remains weak and two regional satraps - AIADMK and DMK - remain major political forces. On that note, Rajinikanth's meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is likely to happen anytime this week, is drawing high importance. "He is a Kannadiga and he can not enter politics in Tamil Nadu", said Veeralakshmi, one of the protesters.

Rajinikanth has been in the news for hinting on a political journey.

Rajinikanth's statements during a recent meet-and-greet with fans fuelled a years-long buzz about his debut in electoral politics. For 23 years I was in Karnataka and 44 in Tamil Nadu.

"Naan pachai Tamizhan (I am a pure Tamil)... if you ask me to get out and throw me away, I will land only in the Himalayas and not in any other state", he said. Let him tell us where he stands on issues of the common people, only then can he enter politics. "I may have come here as a Kannadiga or Marathi from Karnataka but you gave me love, support, name, fame and prosperity and you have made me a Tamil", he said amidst loud cheers.
