NFL's Pro Bowl Back on ABC

Pro Bowl will return to Orlando in 2018 and keep everything that made it more fun

Before moving to Orlando, the Pro Bowl had been played in Honolulu nearly exclusively since 1980.

Orlando is hosting the Pro Bowl for a second-straight year after it was previously held in Honolulu and Arizona in recent years. The game goes down Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Camping World Stadium.

"The Pro Bowl has become a fun, week-long event that celebrates the game of football and the NFL's top players". It will feature the traditional AFC vs. NFC format.

Last year's game was better than usual, thanks in part to a wild finish.

"The Pro Bowl is not only a time to watch NFL greats compete live, but it is also a unique opportunity to inspire youth and the next generation of stars", said Peter O'Reilly, NFL Senior Vice President of Events. Additionally, in 2017, Airbnb hosts earned a a combined $677,000 in Orlando during Pro Bowl weekend, according to the Orlando Sentinel. In addition, ESPN Deportes will offer a Spanish production that will be streamed live on the ESPN app. "Their confidence in our city's ability to put on such a high-profile event underscores our reputation as one of the premier sports destinations in the U.S". Orlando is easier for most people to travel to, so it should have a better chance at consistently filling up its stadium for the Pro Bowl.

The decision to return to Central Florida was not surprising, considering Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan has said the agreement with the National Football League was for two years, plus an option to host the 2019 Pro Bowl.
