Nitish wears the crown, but Lalu rules Bihar: Paswan

The Income Tax department on Tuesday conducted raids and surveys at 22 locations in Delhi and adjoining areas on the premises of companies and individuals connected with Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on charges of alleged benami deals worth Rs 1,000, media reports said.

Mr Prasad said the BJP-supported media houses were reportingthat raids were conducted in 22 locations and they should name theselocations. Accusing the BJP Govt of using the Income Tax department as a tool to muffle his voice, Lalu Yadav said that no can bring him down, if his voice is muffled than crores more Lalus will stand up.

Earlier, Modi had demanded a probe by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into the connections between Lalu Prasad and his family with jailed businessmen brothers Surendra Jain and Virendra Jain. He also asked the Election Commission to take action against Misa Bharti for not disclosing her property details in her election affidavit. All the companies owned by Prasad's family members for the goal of these land transactions had no employees, no business activities and no turnover, the Union minister claimed.

Lalu's tweet came soon after BJP leader Sushil Modi alleged on Tuesday that Lalu's daughter Misa Bharti, who is also a Rajya Sabha member and has been in the eye of storm over alleged land deals in Delhi, had purchased industrialist Vivek Nagpal's company KHK Holding Pvt Ltd for just Rs 1 lakh.

Lalu rapped the BJP in yet another tweet for "sensing an opportunity to destabilise the Grand Alliance Government in Bihar" and asserted that the coalition was "intact". "If yardstick is morality then why is he (Modi) shying away from ordering an inquiry into the Sahara-Birla Computer Excel sheets, in which none other but the Prime Minister himself has been named repeatedly about having taken bribe", Surjewala said. "The country had slipped into anarchy and is on the brink of breaking down due to the divisive politics being pursued by BJP's and its parent body, the RSS", he said.Prasad said the PM's only achievement in last three years was his transformation into an autocrat and quashing any dissension within the BJP.by advising party MPs to become his "Hanuman". He had also alleged that the state's biggest shopping mall that is coming up in Patna is part of such questionable transactions.

Both Bihar leaders are now engaged in efforts to unite opposition parties for discussions on fielding a common candidate for President. "We want to reiterate that neither P Chidambaram, nor any Congress leader or any other leader of Opposition would be deterred or cowed down from fear of politics of revenge and vendetta", said party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.
