2 dead, including suspect, after shooting at sports bar

Police are working a shooting at a restaurant in Arlington Wednesday evening.

Officers from the Arlington Police Department responded to a 911 call of a shooting at Zona Caliente Sports Bar & Grill around 6:17 p.m. local time.

Two people, including the shooter, have been killed after a fight at a Texas bar.

Police Lt. Christopher Cook says a customer then fatally shot Jones.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Perez was the manager of the restaurant.

A customer, who was armed with a handgun, saw the shooting and fired his weapon toward the suspect, striking him.

"Based upon multiple witnesses who were inside the location, detectives believe that a male suspect entered the location and confronted an employee", the statement reads.

Cook says, "By all accounts, he made a decision to engage the shooter because he wanted to prevent further loss of life". That's when investigators say Jones shot and killed Perez. WFAA reported, "A man opened fire at the Zona Caliente Sports Bar... but police say a customer with a gun of his own put a stop to it". They're also reviewing surveillance video at the sports bar.
