New photo of Princess Charlotte released ahead of birthday

Prince William Duke of Cambridge is sprayed with water during the London Marathon

We've heard about the awful twos and everything, but it must be said: Princess Charlotte still looks like a total sweetie-pie on the eve of her second birthday.

Six media representatives will go on trial Tuesday over the publication of long-lens photographs of Prince William's wife Kate sunbathing topless in France that caused a scandal in Britain.

Princess Charlotte looks nothing less than adorable in the new portrait, and so much more grown up than the last time we saw her!

Royals Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge have released a new photo of their daughter Charlotte to mark her second birthday.

It is thought the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will throw a party for the youngster at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall. "Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank everyone for the wonderful messages they have received and hope everyone will enjoy this picture of Princess Charlotte".

Her love of bubbles, or "pops" as she reportedly calls them, has been well documented over the past two years, however, it appears sheep may be her new favourite thing, as suggested by the blue lambs embroidered all over her sweater.

Several royal watchers shared their opinions, saying that Charlotte bears a striking resemblance to her great-grandmother the Queen.

As the Mirror notes, Princess Charlotte's parents have carefully guarded her privacy.

Kate and Prince William are moving to Kensington Palace in the fall so that they are closer to the center of royal business. Earlier outfits worn by Prince George in public have become extremely popular with British consumers charmed by the young royals.

Yes, Kensington Palace earlier today tweeted a photograph of the toddler princess and we have to say it's just gorgeous.

Her older brother Prince George, is expected to bring in £2.4bn.

William and Kate's daughter was mesmerized by balloons at a children's party she attended at Government House during William and Kate's tour of Canada last September.

What's next for Charlotte and her family?
