"Rainfall totals by late Wednesday evening will range from 1-3" across the viewing area, with a few spots possibly reaching 4". For that reason, the greatest risk for severe weather will be across Arkansas and southern Missouri.

Strong storms will continue into Friday night.

There is still a chance a few storms could become severe.

More severe storms redevelop in Eastern Oklahoma and move across our area. There is another change of storms across Oklahoma on Friday afternoon through Saturday. Highs are expected to be in the upper 80s, with southwest winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa predicts the severe weather, including wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour and large hail, will move into the area starting about 7 p.m. north of the Interstate 44 corridor.

Today, there is a chance of thunderstorms today for areas generally north of Interstate 20 and east of Interstate 35, NWS states. But, when the second system moves in on Sunday, those rainfall totals could rise an additional one to three inches.

South Central United States is in for some severe weather during the coming weekend. Sunny skies will push temperatures into the mid 70s during the afternoon.

We'll take a break from the severe weather Thursday and probably Friday.

The current set-up and forecast will bring several rounds of potential severe weather, heavy rain, and flash flooding likely through the weekend.
