Johnson scores 28, Jazz beat Clippers 105-98 to even series

Joe Ingles and Joe Johnson carried the Utah Jazz to a series-tying win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

In Game 1, as Utah lost starting center Rudy Gobert on the opening play with a knee injury, Johnson came off the bench, sliding into the game a small-ball four, and torching the Clippers with a spread-out offense.

Two fans in attendance for Sunday's Game 4 stepped on the Vivint Arena court during a break in the action to race in giant plastic balls.

The Los Angeles Clippers managed to win their first game in Utah in this series and took a 2-1 advantage heading into Game 4. After that run, he assisted three of the four remaining Utah baskets: A pair of triples for Joe Ingles and one of Rodney Hood's two daggers (the one that included this spectacular shimmy). Off the bench, he finished with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting, and added six rebounds and two steals. The Spurs were in this spot a year ago - 2-2 series, home for Game 5 - in the second round last season, and wound up losing to the Thunder in six games.

Gobert was great, but he didn't finish the game because Derrick Favors was so good, too.

"He hasn't played, so I don't know what we expect". But Doc Rivers tempered expectations for the guard's return in this Western Conference first-round series, which is tied 2-2.

Joe Johnson will get most of the attention but let's not forget the enormous contribution of Ingles. "There wasn't anything he could play through, he was just so depleted". 13 points, three assists, and all three rebounds came in the last seven minutes of the game.

Meanwhile, Ingles showed off the shooting (2 huge late 4th quarter 3-pointers) and passing (11 assists) highlighted in Zach Lowe's Luke Walton All-Stars column from March. Crawford scored 25 points for Los Angeles, on a variety of jumpers. He got beat at the rim by Raymond Felton but still had enough in him to posterize Marreese Speights a few possessions later. Hood scored 18 points. His average of 9.0 points in the first three games of the series won't suffice. The Clippers did likewise when Blake Griffin departed Game 3. Just think about your thumbs and big toes are your main points of your body.
