Trump says he'll mark 100 days with Pennsylvania rally

President Donald Trump speaks during a news conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in the East Room of the White House Wednesday

In a separate tweet he said he'll be announcing tax reforms this week, though the topic of the Saturday rally was not specified. Sanctuary cities must cooperate with immigration authoritiesThe announcement comes the day after the Trump administration intensified its threats to crack down on sanctuary cities that refuse to comply with federal immigration authorities.

Further details about the event have yet to be revealed.

Earlier this week Mr Trump called the 100-day landmark "ridiculous".

President Trump on Saturday announced plans to hold a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on April 29, marking his 100th day in office. The rally marks Trump's 100th day in office.

Trump himself talked repeatedly about his first 100 days when he was campaigning a year ago.

The Times wrote: "That evening of public abasement, rather than sending Mr. Trump away, accelerated his ferocious efforts to gain stature in the political world". He was the first Republican to win the Keystone State since 1988.

The decision to hold campaign-funded rallies gives Trump more flexibility - from deciding who's allowed in to helping the campaign build out its database of supporters' contact information. "Looking forward to seeing our bravest and greatest Americans!" he tweeted.

April 29 is also the date of the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington.
