Prince fans join 'purple family' at Paisley Park

Governor Dayton Declares 'Prince Day” In Minnesota

Several landmarks in Minneapolis will be lit up in Prince purple, including U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field, the IDS Center, and the Interstate 35W and Lowry Avenue bridges over the Mississippi River.

Questlove shared a short video clip of the late singer during a recording session with the caption, "may we all learn, that flawless consistent practice ... makes satisfaction".

The Revolution said Wednesday that they and the world mourned Prince "with profound loss and apocalyptic grief" after learning of his death in April. Two Prince concert films from the vaults are due for release on June 9 as well. I remember driving by his Paisley Park studios a few times during my college days hoping to catch a glimpse of him out and about, but I never did.

"I've been listening to Wesley's version of "Purple Rain" for about three years now, and I'm still not exhausted of it", Wright tells The Boot.

State and federal authorities spent the past year searching for answers about his overdose-provoked death.

"When you would sit down [with him]...he was...just some guy from Minneapolis who would talk about basketball or about movies that were out", he tells ABC Radio.

"Right away, I wasn't ready and I just waited until it felt appropriate", he continues.

The celebrated pop icon, who died one year ago on April 21, 2016 at 57, was the best-selling artist of 2016, but sadly he wasn't alive to bask in the glory.

Recording artist Prince is topping the charts one year after he died of an accidental overdose.

In public, Prince was vehemently anti-drug, but it's now emerged that he was apparently struggling with an opioid addiction.

He said: "When he was running the show, I do think he wanted to have control over how it was put out". The estate of Prince quickly objected and a United States District Court judge in Minnesota granted a temporary restraining order. "I thought, he looked thin, even though he always looks fragile".
