'Fate of the Furious' races to biggest global box office opening ever

Check out the show times and make sure to purchase tickets to see "Fate of the Furious" at a local movie theater in the near future. It seems that life is imitating art, especially when it comes to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, 44, and Vin Diesel, 49.

Fortune also reported that The Fate of the Furious' global record opening is better than the domestic numbers, revealing that worldwide movie market has a significant impact most especially to countries like China.

So, how much of Cleveland is actually in 'The Fate of the Furious?'

While some may be surprised that the film does so well internationally despite the scathing and overly divisive reviews, The Fast and the Furious franchise has always had a lot of support from the global film market. The Star Wars film didn't arrive in China until a month after its December 18th, 2015 release.

"He straps that kid in [to a auto seat], gets in [the car], and rolls it out the back", Morgan told Slash Film, "and they do the vehicle going out like we did in 'Furious 7, ' but he's got the baby in it, and the baby is laughing the whole way".

The Fate of the Furious has raced to the top of the box office chart - breaking an global record in the process.

For all its strong showing, Fast & Furious 8 earned almost a third less in its first North American weekend than Fast & Furious 7, which drew US$147.2 million.

Brian, played by the now late Paul Walker, was a character that I missed throughout the film. Clearly, the eight film franchise is doing something right.

With the addition of "Fast 8", the franchise has earned an estimated $5.8 billion globally. It was third place domestically, with $13.7 million. Walker died in an auto crash during the production of "Furious 7". The ninth untitled "The Fast and the Furious" movie has been scheduled to release in April 2019.

"I think the antagonist will figure into the films, I don't know exactly how yet..." Cipher (Charlize Theron) brought a certain sex appeal to her character playing the one who would break this strong family up.
