Walt Disney World pushes projection mapping in new fireworks show

The Celebration panel revealed you can build up a reputation at the park so if you crash Han Solo's ship that could come back to haunt you later

During a Star Wars event in Orlando on Saturday, Disney revealed new details about the Star Wars lands coming to Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California.

As part of the Star Wars Celebration fan convention held April 13-16, 2017 at the Orange County Convention Center, Disney Parks and Lucasfilm teamed up for a panel presenting new Star Wars Land details that hint at the experiences guests will encounter when the twin lands debut in 2019.

One of the more intriguing revelations from the panel was that guests can "build a reputation" at Star Wars Land.

Designer Doug Chiang said his inspiration for the layout was based on the original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie's concept art as well as locations in Istanbul and Morocco.

We learned where within the Star Wars universe guests will be exploring, come 2019.

You'll be able to pick a side to fight on, be it the Resistance or the First Order. This could affect what happens next to you in this "ambitious" Star Wars experience.

But Fitzgerald let the crowd at the Orange County Convention Center know Disney was in production with Industrial Light and Magic to produce scenes from the planet that fans got a glimpse of in the new trailer for the film that comes out December 15.

The theme parks will be set in a "remote frontier outpost" that has never been featured in any of the films, The Huffington Post reported.

Heroines in the Star Wars universe will be getting a starring role in the new animated series Forces of Destiny.

The panelists said Star Wars Land would have its own distinct smells, not to mention tastes, including "blue milk" (a.k.a. Bantha milk).

With so many eras of Star Wars lore to choose from, you might think the park expansions would be a sort of smorgasbord of memorabilia, sights, and sounds. When Disney first purchased Lucasfilm, the opportunities to expand the Star Wars brand obviously extended to Disney's ever-popular and immersive themes parks.

As you know, the planet setting of the new Star Wars-themed land is a gateway planet located on the outer rim.

There will be a presence of the Resistance and the First Order, but also the inhabitants of the world who may not be of either affiliation.

"Basically, all the interesting people", joked Scott Trowbridge, the Disney creative portfolio executive in charge of Star Wars Imagineering, "Basically, all the interesting people are here". "You're not going to sit in a chair and watch it happening", Anderson said. Let's say you're piloting the Millenium Falcon, and you do a bad job.
