Misogyny certainly contributed to electoral loss, says Hillary Clinton

The question of attacking Syria was a major point of debate during the 2016 election, with President Trump warning against the idea, as potentially leading to a war with Russian Federation, and Hillary Clinton campaigning heavily on the idea of attacking Syria.

Hillary Clinton says President Donald Trump's reasoning for ordering airstrikes against Syria conflicts with his attempt to ban Syrian refugees from entering the United States.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton reacted Friday to the United States strike on Syria, saying the United States needs a long-term plan to stop future attacks on civilians by the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.


It came as the USA on Thursday night struck the Shairat airbase in a response to the chemical weapons attack that killed dozens of civilians in Idlib province. "As I said yesterday afternoon, it is essential that the world does more to deter [Syrian President Bashar Hafez al-Assad] from committing future murderous atrocities".

"I hope this administration will move forward in a way that is most strategic and consistent with our values, and I also hope that they will recognize that we can not in breath speak of protecting Syrian babies and in the next close America's borders".

The U.S. launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at a military airfield in Homs. Clinton urged Trump to develop a strategy for ending Syria's civil war that was consistent with American values. Her own 9-point loss to Trump in Texas, she said, was the closest presidential election in the state in two decades. "The leaders we choose matter".

Hillary Clinton continued her lifelong advocacy for women during her onstage interview with Nicholas Kristof of the New York Times at the Women in the World Summit on Thursday.
