On April 9 when by polls wEre being held in Srinagar parliamentary constituency, the security forces shot dead 8 civilians and injured 117 people majorly youths. Dar revealed that he was picked up by the army when he was on his way to Gampora, 17 km from his home, to attend the rituals of a relative who had died.

"I was tied to the front of the jeep".

Moments after authorities restored internet on Thursday, social media was abuzz with the videos depicting the scenes outside polling stations in Budgam, where eight civilians were killed during clashes with the forces on Sunday.

The personnel and equipment was rescued and the alleged stone-pelter was later handed over to local police. On my chest, a white paper was tucked under the rope. I was in shock, not able to understand what do to as the forces kept threatening me in case I speak to anybody moving on the road.

Rajnath Singh said a First Information Report had been lodged and that action was being taken regarding the treatment of the Central Reserve Police Force troopers who carried the Electronic Voting Machines during the election.

Renowned, Kashmir-based human rights activist, Khurram Parvez, who was also detained previous year under Public Safety Act, in his Facebook post compared the situation in Kashmir with Palestine, saying that the phenomenon of using human shields in the Valley continues unabated. According to them, efforts were underway to arrest one of the main accused, wearing a cap and kicking a CRPF jawan in the video, whose family have assured the Police that he would be presented for questioning on Saturday. Some of the residents maintained that he had "good relations" with the Army and had accepted his role of spreading fear among the stone pelters "voluntarily, without resistance".

Since his release, Dar said, he hadn't left his house due to the continuous pain he is in. "I am not a stone-pelter". "When I get the information, then I will answer this question". "What was my crime?" asked Dar. Again, the authenticity of the two videos could not be verified.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah noticed the sharp contrast in reactions among Indians. "This is just so shocking!", Omar tweeted. "This requires an urgent inquiry & follow up NOW!", read Abdullah's second tweet.

Opposition National Conference (NC) also reacted strongly to the video, and has demanded enquiry into the incident.

Defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said the Army had ordered a probe to check the authenticity of the video and investigate the incident.

The former J&K CM also called for an inquiry.
