Russian Foreign Ministry poked fun at hacker scandal

"To use the services of Russian hackers, press 2", and "to request election interference, press 3".

The ministry posted the purported audio recording for Russian embassies on its Facebook page Saturday.

However, not everyone seems to be into April Fools mood, as Matthew Chance, a senior CNN reporter called it an "attempt to sort of laugh off the very serious allegations" during a live interview on the network. In the clip, recorded in Russian and English, an automated recording tells callers to press 1 for "a call from a Russian diplomat to your political opponent".

Moscow has been emphatic in its denials of allegations that it interfered the U.S. election process.

The tongue-in-cheek prank is in response to the claims of Russia's alleged meddling in the last year's USA elections, as well as accusations of the Trump campaign's alleged ties with Russian officials.

A ministry duty officer, who in accordance with official practice did not provide his name, advised The Associated Press that the post was an "official joke". All these are used for domestic American political agendas.

Trump has denied that he worked with Russia and said that Democrats "made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a bad campaign".

The FBI, of course, is still investigating the Trump presidential campaign's connections with Russian Federation.

"All those things are fictional, illusory and provocations, lies", Putin said Thursday at the International Arctic Forum in Arkhangelsk, Russia. "Read my lips, no", he said.
