Marshawn Lynch to the Raiders is Looking Real Legit

The Seahawks now hold the rights to Lynch, and would have to either release or trade him before he could be acquired by another team.

When Lynch does un-retire, he will be under contract with the Seahawks, who have moved on to Eddie Lacy.

Schneider and McKenzie worked together for the Packers and because of that, Schneider said he expected the talks to be "smooth".

We've heard from Raider's owner Mark Davis. The addition of Marshawn Lynch would instantly turn the Oakland Raiders into serious contenders for a Super Bowl run in 2017. If Oakland wants him, they may have to send something back - a good deal in Seattle since the Seahawks thought they weren't going to see him again anyway, and now they could get some return.

A person familiar with the visit says Lynch came to the facility to meet with Raiders officials. According to ESPN, Lynch reportedly told the Oakland front office that he plans to come out of retirement.

The Seahawks could try to work out a trade for Lynch, or opt to release him.

Lynch, 30, retired after the 2015 season.

"You're talking about guys that are highly, highly popular football players in the National Football League, and as an organization, there's that balance", he said. We were never going to do that.

For one, Seattle still controls Lynch's rights should he choose to return to the NFL. I shared an office with him for probably eight years [with the Green Bay Packers]. The Seahawks acquired then-quarterback Terrell Pryor in 2014 and McDonald previous year.

"I'm not exactly sure where Marshawn's at right now and I'm not exactly sure where the Raiders are at", Schneider said. "I know that he is somewhat entertaining the thought of it".
