Russell Henley rallies for PGA win

Another bogey on the par-three 14th further hurt his chances though he picked up two birdies in the closing four holes to finish at even-par 72 for his final round.

Kang then misjudged his approach into the 12th green and his anger was clear to see, as after dropping his club to the ground, he kicked it along the fairway.

Henley won for the third time in his PGA Tour career, and his first since a playoff victory over Rory McIlroy in the 2014 Honda Classic.

"Russell just played great".

"He's been putting really well since yesterday and the last few days, and then I haven't been putting really well, not like the first two rounds". "I don't have to play my best golf around here to get it around the golf course and still find a way to score".

What happened was that the charge everyone expected from Fowler never came, and Kang was unable to make a birdie over his final 10 holes.

Kang had two birdies on the front nine, but swiftly handed the shot back with bogeys on both occasions and could only par his way in after the turn. "I was planning on not going, but I was going to try my best to win".

Henley didn't expect to be making the drive down Magnolia Lane this year, and was still coming to terms with his change of plans after his final round in Houston.

A 2013 campaign that included his breakthrough at the Sony Open: "I was lost with my swing and questioning everything".

Jimenez looked as if he was going to win relatively easily on Sunday, with a two-shot lead going into No. 18 at Fallen Oak. The 28-year-old's 67 in R3, ended with a bogey- double-bogey finish, and he opened the finale with another double bogey-6 at the second and bogey-6 at four, 6-over for his last eight holes.

Henley's four-day total of 268 tied the 72-hole scoring mark that was established by Phil Mickelson in his win here in 2011.

Steve Stricker, who shot a 65 for the lowest round on Sunday, and Bernhard Langer were tied for third, one shot behind the leaders.
