A prisons spokeswoman says 64-year-old Donald Harvey died Thursday, two days after state troopers say he was found beaten at the state's prison in Toledo.
A prison spokesperson confirmed to The Huffington Post that his death was under investigation by The Ohio State Highway Patrol, whose special response team handles prison incidents.
"Donald Harvey decided as the "Angel of Death" he had the right to decide who lives and who dies, and it was wrong, and he knew it, and he was a murderer", Nadel said.
His victims were claimed while he was at Marymount Hospital in London, Kentucky; the Cincinnati VA Medical Hospital; and Cincinnati's Drake Memorial Hospital.
Harvey escaped the death penalty by accepting the plea bargain agreement.
According to a patrol report cited by the AP, Harvey was in his cell when an unidentified person attacked him Tuesday afternoon.
Harvey had suffered sexual abuse at the hands of his uncle and a neighbor between the ages of four and 20, and was raped by his male roommate in 1970, when he was 18. Details of his injuries were not disclosed, nor was the identity of the fellow prisoner who attacked him. "They just pronounce him dead and send him straight to his funeral home".
