The Hunt Continues for Missing Teen Allegedly Kidnapped By Her Teacher

Nissan Rogue

Tad Cummins is accused of luring Elizabeth Thomas into his auto outside of a restaurant in Columbia, Tennessee and disappearing with the girl on 13 March, investigators said on Saturday.

A warrant has been issued for Cummins' arrest on charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor, according to the TBI.

It is believed Cummins may have driven the girl from Tennessee to a rural area.

Thomas was last seen wearing a flannel shirt and black leggings.

Cummins is six feet tall, 200 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was caught kissing Thomas at school on January 23, the attorney for the Elizabeth's father, Anthony Thomas, told The Columbia Daily Herald.

"The district does not tolerate any manner of behavior that is alleged in this incident and will take swift action to remove parties from school campuses who are involved with investigations of this type", the statement said.

Cooper said Thomas has led a "difficult life" and that Cummins may have used his greater age and experience to manipulate the teen.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released new pictures Monday morning of the former Tennessee teacher believed to be on the run with one of his students. Tad Cummins, 50 is accused of abducting the teen.

Officials believe this security video possibly shows Cummins filling up his silver Nissan Rogue at a gas station, with Thomas waiting in the auto.

Pictured is Elizabeth Thomas, the subject of a statewide AMBER Alert in Tennessee.

Maury County, TN Public Schools terminated Cummins last week after an investigation had been launched into inappropriate contact between the teacher and Thomas.

Her former teacher, Tad Cummins, 50, is allegedly shown on surveillance footage from a gas station near the restaurant at about 8:30 a.m. filling up his silver Nissan Rogue, the vehicle in which authorities believe he is traveling in with the teenager.

But most alarming is what one of Thomas' siblings just revealed to Whatley.

Cummins' wife appeared at a news conference, pleading for her husband to turn himself in and not harm Elizabeth. "This is not who you are". "The mission of our agency is to find him, make sure he's in custody, and bring her home".

Thomas has hazel eyes, stands five feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his capture and Thomas' recovery. "I urge Mr. Cummins to pick up that phone and call someone. and let us know where you are so you can start dealing with the consequences".
