India's tallest tricolour standing 360 feet tall hoisted at Attari border

India hoists tallest tricolour at Attari border can even be seen from Lahore

The Tricolor was hoisted on the country's tallest flag post (360 feet) at the Indo-Pak Attari Border on Sunday.

Hoisted on a 110-meter high mast, the flag is 120-foot long and 80-foot wide.

Before this, the tallest Indian flag measuring 293-foot was hoisted in Jharkhand's Ranchi.

However, Pakistan Rangers complained to the Border Security Force that the flagpole could be used for surveillance, the Khaleej Times reports. The project cost was Rs 3.6 crore.

Thus, Pakistan is not happy with India's decision to hoist tricolour at the global border and fears that it can be used for spying in their territory. It was hoisted by Anil Joshi, the Punjab Local Bodies Minister, and BJP Leader.

A small village near Attari border (India's global border with Pakistan) has become one of the most attractive tourist destinations of the country and thanks to our national flag!

Pakistan has reportedly accused India of violating worldwide treaties and asked for the flag to be moved so that it is no longer visible from Lahore. Amritsar already has a 170-foot high flag post, in the Ranjit Avenue Public Park.

Terming this as his dream project, Joshi said he took special permission from the Election Commission for the inauguration. Condemning the height of the flag, Pakistan alleged that India is using it to spy on Pakistan.

Pakistan on Thursday had again raised an objection to the flag being flown at the IB, calling the act a violation of worldwide treaties.

Pakistan dubbed the hoisting as an act of violation of global treaties.
