Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Introduces New 'Dislike' Reaction Button On Messenger

Facebook is testing out a dislike button in Messenger, user reports

However, it is not functional in the news feed but on the Facebook Messenger app. The same button would not appear in the list of reactions available for posts.

By offering new reactions to the Facebook Messenger app users will be able to message and communicate in the same way that they respond to the current newsfeed system. The user can also see his/her reaction and a total count of how many reactions that message has got. You can view all reactions occurring under a specific message by clicking the mouse or clicking on the mouse. However, more users are expected to get it over the next few weeks.

A spokesperson for Facebook's Messenger app confirmed to Computerworld today that they are running a small test of something akin to a dislike option. The Dislike button come in Facebook messenger.

Facebook vetoed this finding when TechCrunch asked them about this new feature saying, "We're always testing ways to make Messenger more fun and engaging". The main difference here is that there is a thumbs down emoji which of course is equivalent to a dislike. This feature already exists on Facebook News Feed and it's the Reaction tab.

Users can also use other emoji such as the heart eyes, laughing, crying, angry, surprised and the original thumbs up.

Everyone's favorite social network is testing the Dislike button.

It's been one year Facebook added a feature called "reactions".

As the company has already specified, the feature is in testing stage now and all users did not have access to it at the time of writing.

Facebook is now performing the trials on the new "dislike" button. Moreover, the company is even thinking about keeping the new reactions if the users like them. The report further said that messenger will also have reaction buttons. It was the dislike button.

The Facebook dislike button is not, however, the only button that will appear in the inbox. People have been using the Like reaction to imply positivity, so it's only to be expected that a Dislike reaction would say the opposite.
