Vehicle crash turns deadly after driver shoots 8-year-old girl

8-Year Old Girl Is Shot And Killed After Traffic Accident

On Saturday morning, around 2 a.m., an eight-year-old girl from Houston, Texas, was shot and killed by a woman in another vehicle, after she survived a auto crash.

Investigators say the girl and her mother were going east on a Houston roadway around 2:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25th when their Honda Accord hit a Pontiac that was speeding southbound along with a third auto.

The girl, who was in the backseat of the Honda, was hit.

The 8-year-old was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. She continued traveling, too late noticing that the white Pontiac was "coming from another direction at a high speed".

"She kept trying to hang on", Thomas said.

"I looked over and thought she was trying to help", Thomas said of the gunwoman. Thomas said she was unable to slow down in time, and the cars collided with each other. Officers say two cars were headed south on West Fuqua when they crashed into a black Honda Accord going east along the Beltway feeder road.

When Thomas asked her daughter if she was okay, Atkins replied, "Yeah I'm OK".

'She was a good girl, honor roll student, full of life. She remembers seeing a woman step out of a vehicle and begin firing shots.

But before it drove off, the sedan pulled up next to the Honda and a woman leaned out with a gun. "I pulled her shirt up, and she got shot - the bullet went in the right and came out the left side", said the heartbroken parent. She told her daughter to stay with her, but her little body just went limp. She called herself a fashionista. "I wanted to see her get married".

'We just don't know'.
