Audio of suspect released in Ind. girls' murders

Indiana authorities released audio Wednesday captured by the cellphone of slain teenagers Abigail Williams left and Liberty German

As part of the investigation into the killings of two IN teens, a call center has been opened to take tips regarding Liberty German and Abigail Williams.

On Monday, the Indiana State Police confirmed the only "suspect" they are looking for in connection with the case is a man seen photographed near the area where the girls were last seen.

Two girls, 13-year-old Abigail "Abby" Williams and 14-year-old Liberty "Libby" German, were found dead last Tuesday, Feb. 14, in what police have been calling a double murder.

"From all the investigators in this case and from the family of Libby and Abigail, thank you", Indiana State Police Sgt. Their bodies were found the next day by volunteers who had been searching for them throughout the night. Previously, the man had been labeled a person of interest and police said he might only be a witness to the crime. Police say a photo showing the suspect in jeans and a sweatshirt or jacket was captured in video recorded on German's cell phone.

Police posted the image as well as the audio on the Indiana State Police's website in the hopes someone will recognize the man.

German, it was soon discovered, not only took a photo of the male suspect but also took an audio recording of what police believe to be his voice.

"To every person seeing this in some form, we need you".

FBI officials said they have at least 20 agents assisting with the investigation on any given day.

More than 40,000 dollars in reward money has been raised for anyone who has information related to the case.

Authorities said Wednesday both the audio recording and the suspect photos came from German's cellphone.

"Someone knows who this individual is", Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter said. "We will keep your information anonymous", Bursten says.

Because of the influx of tips, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has started fielding the tip lines from Washington D.C. The number hasn't changed.
