New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis charged after alleged altercatio

New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, 31, has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and one count each of felony robbery and conspiracy.

Revis' lawyer Jones said on Thursday that Revis was, "physically assaulted while at the location by a group of at least five people", and said Revis suffered injuries in the incident without going into details.

Jarvis' statement corroborated Cousins' version of events, adding that he also was punched after attempting to grab Cousins' phone from Revis and remembers waking to speak to police, the complaint said.

As part of Friday's arraignment, the four-time All-Pro was ordered to appear at all hearings and instructed not to have any contact with the alleged victims and witnesses - not even on social media.

Revis grew up in the nearby city of Aliquippa and played college football at the University of Pittsburgh.

Rich Cimini of ESPN.com summarizes the incident report, pointing out that there is now no specific evidence that Revis punched either of the two victims.

Jones told The Associated Press once a warrant is issued, he will arrange for Revis to turn himself in.

Revis' is forced to defend himself against some serious charges.

The two men were unconscious for approximately 10 minutes. Cousins confronted Revis, who acknowledged his identity.

According to the statement, a 22-year-old male followed Revis while taking a video of the cornerback before Revis "snatched the cellphone away and attempted to delete the video". Another 21-year-old male from Ross Township attempted to help the 22-year-old retrieve the cellphone.

An argument occurred afterwards, and an unidentified man came over to assist Revis.

Information from ESPN's Coley Harvey and Rich Cimini was used in this report.

A witness, who apparently didn't witness any punches thrown, claims that at one point Revis said to him, "Do you want to be next?" According to police, the two men regained consciousness and spoke to authorities. Revis threw a cellphone belonging to one of the men into the street, but police saw the video afterwards and that was when Revis was charged. In addition to his $13 million base salary, he is due a $2 million roster bonus on March 11.
