Irish woman charged with murder of fiancé in Sydney

The 29-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the neck after reports of a fight breaking out at a home on Watson Road in Padstow, western Sydney, on Saturday.

The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene but couldn't be saved.

Police said the woman was known to the dead man.

A crime scene was established and police arrested a 25-year-old woman who lived at the home.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that is providing consular assistance to the family of an Irishman who has died in Sydney.

It is understood the victim, along with the woman who is being questioned by police, are Irish nationals.

She is due to appear in court tomorrow.
