Burlington Coat Factory Ditches Ivanka

Scott Baio

Meanwhile, Trump supporters have flooded the company's Facebook page claiming that they, too, intend to boycott the retailer for removing the Ivanka Trump brand from their website.

All 13 of the Ivanka Trump-branded items the company, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, it had for sale suddenly disappeared from its website on Friday, reports.

Following his presidential win, many shoppers have taken part in the #GrabYourWallet campaign in protest at the election results in order to boycott products with ties to President Trump, his family and his donors. Ethics experts worry that plunging USA retail sales may feed Trump's need to expand overseas, creating new conflicts of interest. Nordstrom's decision set off a firestorm of controversy, with President Trump tweeting, "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom".

The boycott effort targets more than 60 firms that are affiliated with the Trump family or sell products under the Trump brand name.

Most were sharply critical of Burlington Coat Factory, contending the retailer had acted for political reasons and predicting dire consequences.

"There seemed to be conflicting information from the Trump company that sales were good, but I would tend to believe Nordstrom's over the Trump company", Lewis-Goldstein said.

It's unclear if the brand is still being sold in stores and Burlington has not commented.

And the brand appears to be adjusting to her absence.

For years, Ivanka Trump has enjoyed the benefits of being a Trump while also keeping a distance from her father's realm.

Since Feb. 10, Burlington does not show a stock of Ivanka Trump's accessories and clothing in its online store, according to Business Insider.

Nordstrom took steps to defend its relationship with the Ivanka Trump brand days before Trump was elected.

The campaign drew increased attention this month when Nordstrom said it would not carry the first daughter's spring collection in its 349 stores. "Ivanka Trump is a good person".

According to Das, mixing Trump's brand with other inventory at TJ Maxx and Marshall's devalues the brand's stance as an independent competitive commodity.

The store's decision led countless celebrities - and other Trump detractors - to rush to shop at the store to show their support for the decision.
