Google's Valentine's Day doodle is all about love and pangolins

Valentine’s Day special Google’s doodle games are a tribute to love-struck pangolins

On its blog, Google describes the animal, native to Africa and Asia, as the most trafficked mammal in the world, adding that its eight species are in danger due to the actions of poachers and smugglers.

Monday's Google Doodle is an effort to educate people about pangolins and how they range from vulnerable to critically endangered.

The initiative is meant to raise awareness about the endangered pangolins, which are threatened by trafficking.

Google is getting the love on this week for Valentine's Day.

Google has unveiled its latest Valentine's Day-themed Google Doodle - and it's for a good cause.

The doodle features a cute interactive video game that took roughly one year to develop and it's among the most in-depth Google Doodles launched so far.

In real life, pangolins do roll up into balls, but they do so in order to protect themselves from predators; their scaly exteriors fight off gnashing fangs. In each, a pangolin makes its way across various terrains like Ghana, India and China - collecting cocoa beans, musical notes and, today, ribbons.

Google actually recommends you play it on mobile when you try to play on desktop. The game consists of four levels, and we must tell you that the Pangolins in the game are so adorable that you won't leave any stone unturned to complete their love story. But to make sure that they do fall in love in person, you have to help one of the pangolins go around the world and learn from different countries what makes the ideal date.

As you go through the game, you'll have to pick up different items to rack up points, and earn as many stars as possible.
