Watch Google Home's Super Bowl commercial here

Living in tech

Although Amazon ran a Super Bowl ad for Echo, its delivery drones stole the show.

Those commands seem to have caused many devices to spring into action in homes across the country. A one-minute advertisement showing off the different ways in which people have the ability to interact with Home, the spot featured - over and over again, mind you - people uttering its popular wake word, "OK Google".

Google was one of the companies to do just that - they broadcast an ad created to show off how handy their smart speaker Google Home is.

These didn't just remain in the ad, however, with dozens of Google Home owners taking to Twitter to bemoan how their own speakers had been brought to life by the advert.

Google says nothing gets passed back to them until the speakers hear the keywords - "Hey Google" or "OK, Google".

Scott Foster tweeted: "Our Google Home just went a little bonkers with the Google Home commercial".

So if you own an Echo, make sure you're on alert the next time a TV item discussing the device comes on.

"The Google Assistant on Google Home is the best example of how artificial intelligence [AI] technologies are revolutionizing the Connected Home experience at every level", says Curt Hayes, President and CFO, Capitol.
