Bright and early Friday, before tending to the affairs of the nation such as meeting with business leaders to talk about jobs, President Donald Trump fired off another unsolicited jab at Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In response, the 69-year-old actor quickly shared a video online and suggested he and the president "switch jobs". Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger challenged to take his job so "people can finally sleep comfortably again".

As we reported, Arnold Schwarzenegger - who's now hosting Celebrity Apprentice whilst Trump turns the US into a fascist dystopia and incites World War III - has had a genteel war of words with the current US President. "The ratings went right down the tubes", Trump said on Thursday.

"It's been a total disaster", Trump said.

On Thursday morning, President Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast, an annual event organized by the Fellowship Foundation. It marks the second time since his election that Trump has mocked the show's ratings and sparked media coverage of a clash between him and Schwarzenegger.

"When I ran for president, I had to leave the show", Trump told the more than 2,000 people attending the breakfast at a Washington hotel. He asked the audience to "pray for Arnold". The president, who had risen to superstardom with the TV show, had religiously been following the ratings of it after Arnie replaced him.

The season-to-date average for the first month was 4.7 million viewers, compared to 7.6 million viewers for Trump's final season in winter 2015. "'Cause the White House just got burnt", Colbert said.

Schwarzenegger has since slammed Trump's nominee for Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt.

Trump discussed the TV show - which he formerly appeared on and remains and executive producer of - and the lower ratings Schwarzenegger had achieved since taking over the show.
