Planned Parenthood Should Be Defunded

Planned Parenthood provides over 30% of abortions in America- but a very small fraction of cancer screenings and non-violent women's health services

President Trump re-instated on his first day in office a federal ban on US funding for worldwide health organizations that counsel women on family planning options that include abortion, through the Global Gag rule. Furthermore, experts in the field claim there are not enough venues, including the federally qualified health centers Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has referred to, to accommodate all those needing care.

What does the name "Planned Parenthood" mean to you?

Reproductive health care includes services that many of us consider normal and routine - Pap smears and breast exams, which test for cancer; access to various birth control methods, many of which are used to treat a variety of concerns in addition to preventing pregnancy; and prenatal care, resulting in healthier pregnancies, less complicated births and better outcomes for babies and parents. They really care about helping people: Because Bell's insurance doesn't kick in for another month, they figured out a way to save her $600 on her appointment. This has nothing to do with abortion care as no federal money goes to abortion due to the Hyde Amendment. I challenge you to open your mind to the meaning of "Planned Parenthood".

"I live streamed my experience getting an IUD at Planned Parenthood to shed some light on what women can expect and to share some very real facts about PPH that many do not know", she wrote on her YouTube channel.

Planned Parenthood is spending millions of dollars in advertising right now, saying they support "choices" for pregnant women, but nothing could be further from the truth... "We will continue to fight until abortion is not only illegal but abortion is unthinkable". And they believe this election was about draining the swamp and creating jobs, not about taking away their access to health care.
